Johnny Hendrikus isn’t always a person who cries effortlessly. However, the freelance filmmaker admits it became a particular tale when it came to All Black TJ Perenara and Greer Samuel’s Marvel outside wedding.
“It became the most emotional wedding I’ve ever been to,” confesses Johnny, who had the privilege of filming the couple’s wedding in Porirua in advance this month after learning them via the gym and community occasions. “It’s safe to say a tear dropped from my eye at the same time as filming the hongi among TJ and his fine guy Byron,” Johnny says. “It becomes such an outstanding second of friendship and brotherhood.”

In return, TJ promised his bride, “I love how you like me, and I love how you adore my family as though they had been your personal. I assume they love you more than me once in a while.
“I take you to be my wife with my entire coronary heart.” The couple’s loved labrador, Roni, became a gift at the rite, and each of the bridal party participants carried a framed image of a relative who had passed away.
Johnny shot around three hours of wedding photos and then had the robust activity of modifying it to this beautiful 5-minute video. It took him 20 hours!
“TJ and Greer are such unique human beings, and you could see they get their quirks and power from their families,” says Johnny. “I felt honored to be worried on their special day.”
