Members of the Islamic Movement Of Nigeria (IMN) on Tuesday in Abuja warned the Nigerian Government not to push them to the wall in their demand for the discharge of their spiritual leader, Sheik Ibraheem El-Zakzaky. The organization disclosed this all through a procession to mark the 68th birthday of El-Zakyzaky and 1,224 days of detention. According to Shaikh Sidi Munnar from Sokoto State, a movement member who spoke to reporters, the movement would change its fashion and flow to another step if the authorities fail to launch their leader.
When asked what would be the next line of motion of the movement if the authorities continue to preserve him in detention, he stated: “I am certain we cannot be doing this kind of procession to name for the release of our chief; we can flow to another step.
“If they push us to the wall, keep directly to our chief, and refuse to release him, the style will change. We will no longer most effectively protest to call for the release of our chief. The story will alternate.”
He expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari, with his next-stage slogan, would rescind his selection and release him from detention.
He additionally called on well-meaning Nigerians and the International community to intrude as a matter of urgency and necessity.
He brought that the motion embarked on the rally to commemorate the 68th birthday anniversary of their chief even though he is in detention.
Also speaking, Abdullahi Isa Mohammad, Secretary of the Academic Forum of the motion, stated that the Government’s refusal to release El-Zakyzaky has further improved the chief’s and the movement’s popularity.
He noted that the movement has accomplished loads with the protest by exposing the injustice being perpetrated by way of the Government and creating recognition of the extrajudicial killings of their individuals via the safety operatives.
He said the president’s continuous violation of the rule of law has released the movement to reckoning inside and outside the U.S. He said the motion would no longer surrender on its call.
“He has violated all of the laws of the land, which includes an order by way of the court of capable regulation that’s the Federal High Court that ordered for the liberty of our leader,” Muhammad said.
“They are keeping El-Zakzaky in their custody, but El-Zakzaky’s movement is at your step of the villa, on the streets of Abuja, and anywhere else on the globe. They have executed nothing but boom, the momentum of the motion to the alternative stage.
“We have exposed the authorities’ secrets and informed the masses what occurred with this peaceful protest. So we don’t care if it keeps for some other four years. However, we all know that Sheik Zakzaky is of their custody and our chief, and we’re equipped to die for this motive.”
El-Zakzaky was born on 15 Sha’aban, 1372 (which corresponds to May 5, 1953) in Zaria. ‘Zakzaky’ means ‘Man from Zazzau’, and Zazzau or Zaria is a historic City in Nigeria.
He attended the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, where he studied Economics and graduated with a First-Class Degree in 1979.
